Summer Pastels – Lorna & Lachlan

Lorna and Lachlan chose to start their day Summer Wedding day with a ceremony in the beautiful All Saints’ Church, before walking en masse through the Palace’s gardens to start their reception. Although cloudy, the August weather held out for Lorna and Lachlan’s guests to enjoy a cold glass of Prosecco in the Medieval Courtyard accompanied by the wonderful Titanium String Quartet.

The real showstopper of the day had to be the personal touches Lorna and Lachlan added to our Chaplain’s Walled Garden Marquee. Jay Archer is a Fulham Palace favourite when it comes to flowers, and her arrangements certainly did not disappoint! We particularly love the beautiful foliage plank with tea lights which hung above the guests throughout dinner. The colourful pastel mix of flowers kept a rustic and fun feel to the décor, and we love Lorna and Lachlan’s placecards with lavender and corn ears.

After dinner, the Chaplains garden looked just as pretty as the sun began to set, thanks to these gorgeous lanterns, as well as lighting by Effectevent. Before leaving the marquee, guests watched Lorna and Lachlan cut their beautiful ‘naked’ cake by Andi Freeman.

The guests then moved into the Great Hall for the first dance, and we think the look on Lachlan’s face says it all! Guests spent the rest of their evening dancing, enjoying Lorna and Lachlan’s signature cocktails (Dark & Stormy, Gin Bramble and a shot of espresso martini to keep guests going at 11pm!) and indulging in a plate of cheese or a bacon bap as the night drew to a close!

Here’s what Lorna had to say about her day at Fulham Palace:

“We cannot praise Chloe and the team and Fulham Palace as a wedding venue highly enough. Even though we saw the venue on a damp rainy January when the marquee was not in place and none of the beautiful flowers were out, Chloe’s welcome and enthusiasm along with the wonderful setting of the venue meant we knew it was the venue for us. From guiding us through suggestions for timings and unique personalisation for our special day to the exquisite food tasting, the team were brilliant, very professional yet with a personal touch. Knowing the team were looking after us was such a comfort on the day and the venue was everything and more on our special day. Everything ran so smoothly with all our guests commenting on the gorgeous food along with the venue-for us it felt like an English country garden hidden in central London. A true gem!”
