Laughter and Love – James & Miguel

James and Miguel chose one of the hottest weekends of the year to marry at Fulham Palace. The sun may be proven to make people happier, but it was James and Miguel who bought the laughter and love to Fulham Palace on Friday 27th May this year.

We look back at this wedding with memories of aching cheeks from smiling so much and couldn’t wait to include it on our real wedding blog. The couple, the guests and our team alike had an absolute ball and the photos really do speak for themselves.

Starting with a civil ceremony in our Great Hall, James and Miguel walked down the aisle with both of their mums, a lovely start to the day!

United in front of family and friends, it was time to get the ceremony underway. Floral details by Mary Jane Vaughan.

Married and now time to celebrate. James and Miguel joined their guests in the Tudor Courtyard, showered by confetti on arrival. This is one of our favourite shots of the day, thank you Paul Rogers for sharing your fantastic work with us!

Sunshine a plenty, the Tudor Courtyard is the perfect setting for a drinks reception. Canapés were passed amongst groups and Prosecco topped up throughout. Miguel’s Spanish influence came through in the menu with Gazpacho shots flowing and a Serrano ham carving station!

After plenty of merriment in the sun, guests were invited to move through to the Chaplain’s Walled Garden Marquee for the wedding breakfast, speeches and cake cutting! The private garden seemed like the perfect setting what with the beautiful weather.

After a delicious three course meal and some hilarious speeches, it was time to move back inside the Palace for cocktail hour and the evening party. The best was yet to come with these two, they kicked off the party with a Flamenco dance and guests soon spilled onto the dance floor! The Palace had been lit for the evening party by the fantastic team at Effect Event.

We created an atmospheric chill out area in our Terrick’s Rooms which James and Miguel personalised with photos from their past, a great way to make use of the space. That being said, we are sure we remember most guests rocking the dance floor all night long!

Shots of espresso martini were passed at 11pm for a final boost before the celebrations drew to a close – however for anyone still going, the couple had hired Tequila Mockingbird in Putney to carry on the party!

There was definitely a theme to James and Miguel’s day with us and it was quite simply to have the “Best Wedding Ever”. We found ourselves surrounded by complete happiness all day and we felt privileged to have played a part in it. Thank you again to Paul Rogers for sharing his work with us. We end with a few of our favourite photos of the happy couple…
