A Picture Perfect Palace Wedding – Rosanna & Duncan

We know that our beloved English summer can be somewhat temperamental at times, but weren’t we so lucky this year? We look back on the summer months with fond memories of long sunny days and many happy couples as a result.

Rosanna and Duncan had chosen a beautiful day in August to be married at Fulham Palace, their wedding was positively basking in sunshine. We couldn’t wait for their day to come round as the planning stages had been full of exciting ideas which we were eager to see come together.

Their day began at All Saints Church at the “bottom of our garden”, nuptials complete and it was time for guests to make their way to Fulham Palace to celebrate. Chloe, one of our wedding planners was ready and waiting to guide guests through the botanical gardens that surround the Palace, whilst Rosanna and Duncan hopped in their wedding car to be chauffeured down the drive and into the courtyard. The happy couple soon arrived to be greeted by their equally happy guests, and their vintage car fitted right in to the historic setting.

Canapés shortly followed the arrival of the newly weds, we worked with Rosanna in the planning stages to design a delicious menu tailored to her gluten free requirements. Guests were able to enjoy, Watermelon cubes with seared beef, pickled ginger & wasabi and Cucumber cups with whipped goats cheese and honey.

The drinks reception is the perfect time for the Bride and Groom to step away from the buzz surrounding the occasion and capture some special moments together. At this time, guests are occupied with fizz and canapés so won’t notice you sneaking away. Rosanna, Duncan and their fabulous photographer Owen Billcliffe took advantage of the natural daylight and privacy of the Palace grounds for some stunning couple portraits.

After a short while Rosanna and Duncan re-joined their guests, during which Owen managed to capture some of the lovely styling and detail in the marquee before seats were filled for the wedding breakfast. The couple had worked hard to create a very natural, garden inspired look which was perfect for the time of year. What you can’t see in the photos is the magical wall of real birch trees and the detail in the hanging birdcages – it was quite special!

A wonderful seasonal menu was served comprising of;

Parma Ham with a mix of watermelon, honeydew and cantaloupe, honey roast fig, goats curd and baby rocket with chive oil

Wild Seabass, lemon oil mash, wilted greens, chilli and clam sauce vierge

Lavender and honey roasted peaches, a shot of peach schnapps jelly, raspberry sorbet, fresh raspberries and a gluten free almond tuille

Owen caught the chefs in action prepping the dessert…

As the light drew in, the lantern lined path stood out, and there was just speeches and cake cutting to go before heading back inside the Palace for the evening party!

The warm evening made it for an idyllic time to enjoy some cocktails! We were serving up some deliciously floral gin based ‘English Rose Gardens’ and something a little spicier, Dark & Stormy’!

The dancefloor was busy all evening courtesy of Rosanna & Duncan’s brilliant band and the party continued into the night.

It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of their day, it was the perfect  English summer wedding and we wish Rosanna and Duncan all the best for their happy future together. A big thank you also to Owen Billcliffe for sharing his wonderful work with us, based super local to the Palace, he is an excellent choice for beautiful wedding photography in the London area.
