A Trendy Spring Wedding at Fulham Palace – Emma and Michael

One of the loveliest things about a wedding is the coming together of two families to celebrate their children’s happiness, it always creates such a joyous atmosphere, and with Emma and Michael it felt like one big family from the outset!

Emma and Michael wed at Holy Trinity Brompton Church and held their wedding reception with us here at Fulham Palace. Their 200 guests were transported from the Church to the Palace in traditional London buses, keeping everyone together creating a close knit fun ambience from the start.

Drenched in sunlight the Tudor Courtyard was the obvious choice for the couple’s drinks reception. Guest arrival was shortly followed by Emma and Michael who arrived in her father’s vintage car – a lovely touch for their journey!

Greeted by a wonderful quartet band the wedding party enjoyed a drinks reception in the sunshine. The children present at the day ensured the family atmosphere was seen throughout and the smiling faces of all guests only highlighted what a happy affair the day was.

After some fun photos in the courtyard the guests readied to move through to the Chaplain’s Walled Garden marquee for the wedding breakfast. With a capacity of up to 200 guests the marquee is the perfect space for larger wedding celebrations, set in it’s own private garden there is no better setting for a spring or summer wedding! The varying heights of the flower arrangements and stone candelabras really bring the room alive and create a very grand image in what was before a blank canvas. Couples fall in love with the exclusivity of Fulham Palace, leaving all the spaces yours to personalise for the day.

Of the 200 guests, 20 were children of which we catered for separately. They had their very own room with a dinner table adorned with goodie bags and games to occupy them for the evening. On this occasion the couple hired nannies to look after the kids, a great company is Tinies Nanny Services which can offer everything from one babysitter to nannies specifically for evening parties and weddings. The versatile spaces mean the options really are endless and Emma and Michael made good use of the Dining Room which is otherwise usually a quiet space for guests to enjoy away from the evening party!

After their wedding breakfast the couple and their guests were able to enjoy an evening party back inside the Palace in the Great Hall, often with Summer Weddings the courtyard is a popular place to mingle in the warm evening air. With some occasional tables scattered, guests are able to enjoy a short break from the busy dance floor.

Teamed with the arrival of the couple, the final farewell is such a happy time of the day – all guests united as one to wave away their beloved friends or family. The bridal car is able to drive right into the courtyard to be surrounded by your cheering guests as you drive away! It’s often hard to believe it’s all over but we are always so grateful to be a part of such a special day in two people’s lives.
