A Stylish Spring Wedding – Vanessa & Doug

Vanessa and Doug’s beautiful wedding day was held with us in March this year. The day was styled with the coming season in mind and the subtle yet bright colours in the natural flower arrangements were a definite nod to Spring.

The lovely couple began their day with us with a civil ceremony in the Great Hall, Mary Jane Vaughan and her team had produced some beautiful dome arrangements on a selection of stone and Perspex plinths to style the Palace from the moment guests arrived.

Vanessa arrived at Fulham Palace in a traditional London style wedding taxi which was the perfect entrance. A quick trip to the bridal suite for finishing touches and this beautiful bride was ready to walk down the aisle with her father.

We love the emotion Ed (the couple’s fantastic photographer) managed to capture in these photos after the ceremony, the smiles say it all!

It wouldn’t be an English wedding without signs of a little rain but the happy couple braced the drizzle for some more private and special photos around the grounds.

Guests  enjoyed a drinks reception inside the Bishop Terrick’s Rooms which the couple had personalised with pictures in the bookshelves and jewel coloured tea lights which added to the room’s homely features. Mary Jane Vaughan’s flower arrangements could be seen throughout the rest of the Palace, decorating the corridors.

After plenty of Prosecco, canapés and mingling, guests were invited to join Vanessa and Doug in the Chaplain’s Walled Garden Marquee for the wedding breakfast, speeches and cake cutting.

The simple bowl arrangements on the tables kept the overall look and feel clean and pretty, of course the top table had a special touch with the pew ends from the ceremony added to the chairs.

The guests were upstanding for Vanessa and Doug’s entrance and the happy couple were totally overwhelmed by the cheers from friends and family! After a delicious three course meal it was time to cut the cake designed by Pat A Cake Pat A Cake

Formalities over, everyone moved back inside the Palace for the first dance and the evening party. We loved being a part of Vanessa and Doug’s day and we wish them all the best for their happy future together and a final thank you from us to Ed Tyler for sharing your fantastic photos with us.
