Real Wedding – Spring Styling Inspiration

We couldn’t wait to share the styling behind this beautiful wedding day. April and May are two of our favourite months at Fulham Palace, the gardens are beginning to blossom and florists can work with the subtle and natural colours that make up the Spring season.

There is a certain amount of elegance and romance that comes with a historic London venue and we think the styling behind this day in particular is the perfect example of how Fulham Palace makes for a beautiful backdrop for a wedding.

For this wedding the team at Mary Jane Vaughan created beautiful big domes of peonies, hydrangea, roses and viburnum to dress the Great Hall, the setting for the ceremony. The vibrant spring blooms were a wonderful contrast against the dark wood panelling in this handsome room.

Set within 13 acres of botanical gardens and rolling lawns, Fulham Palace is the perfect combination of a London location with countryside benefits.  The beautiful surroundings are the perfect place for the Bride and Groom to catch a moment of calm and reflect on their special day. Now is a great time for photographer, Mark Bothwell, to snap some intimate moments caught between the two.

When you hire Fulham Palace for your wedding, all the spaces become yours to use and personalise as you wish. This means that you can create more than one backdrop to your day.

After the ceremony, Guests are invited to join the newly weds in our Chaplain’s Walled Garden Marquee for the wedding breakfast.

The flower arrangements looked just as stunning in their second surroundings for the day…

The variety of colours on clear vases kept a light look in the marquee whilst marrying with the garden setting. The domes almost look as if they are floating here…

After a delicious three course meal it is time for some heart warming speeches and the all important cake cutting.

Formalities over and before long, guests are invited back inside the Palace for the evening party. Let the cocktail shaking commence…

Music from the Wedding Smashers kept the dancefloor busy all night and Espresso Martini shots and Bovingdons Cheese Shelves were passed to keep guests going that little while longer.

Come 1am it was time for the happy couple to make their grand depart by way of our famous Fulham Palace Sparkler Exit, the perfect ending to a fabulous day.

A big thank you to Mark Bothwell, a much loved wedding photographer of ours, for sharing his wonderful work on this occasion and of course the Bride and Groom for offering their wedding pictures as inspiration to future couples.
