A Sparkling Send Off – Harriet & Luke

Fulham Palace was in full bloom the weekend that Harriet and Luke wed in May last year. The wisteria was practically taking over the walls and the blossom was adding a touch of spring to the walled garden.

Originally from London, Harriet had her heart set on a wedding close to home, and so the couple chose Fulham Palace for both their ceremony and reception. With subtle styling but plenty of personality, Harriet and Luke were certainly one of our favourite couples to work with.

They chose very different methods of transport to the Palace, with Luke cycling all the way from Wales, raising money for Velindre Hospital along the way, whilst Harriet arrived in a beautiful white hackney carriage which swung into our Courtyard right on time.

Marrying with a civil ceremony in the Great Hall the couple were greeted by confetti in the courtyard followed by a drinks reception around the fountain. Harriet’s bouquet was by the lovely Jay Archer, a regular choice for couple’s at the Palace.

Harriet and Luke had incorporated some lovely personal touches throughout the day including a table plan made with a window pane from the house they are currently renovating together.

The reception is the perfect time for the couple and wedding party to sneak away and take advantage of the Palace’s grounds for memorable photos. The wonderful wisteria provided a perfect backdrop for group shots. Photos like this make us wish it stuck around for the whole summer! A big thank you to James Green for sharing your fantastic work with us.

The wedding breakfast took place in the Chaplain’s Garden Marquee and then it was back into the Palace for a cocktail hour with Passionfruit Mojitos and Gin Coolers!

Harriet and Luke partied the night away with music from the Wedding Smashers. It wasn’t long before it was time for the happy couple to make their grand departure, but first, a sparkler send off!

As Luke does not drink he made the most of being able to whisk his new wife away in his trusty Land Rover defender. We wish them both all the best for their future together!
