An intimate, fun filled Autumn Wedding Reception – Emma & Ted

Emma and Ted came to us looking for a venue that could accommodate their intimate wedding for close family and friends, a venue that would give them a grand setting but make their guests feel at home, and of course to finish, an epic party!

The day felt like and flowed like a fairytale and both Emma & Ted were simply one of the most relaxed and happy couples we have met to date.

It all began at St Sarkis Armenian Church in Kensington, with a traditional Armenian ceremony which derives from Ted’s heritage. We can’t help but include this photo which captures the rite of crowning, a particularly special moment.

Married and now it’s time to celebrate… their guests made their way to Fulham Palace in traditional London buses which were the perfect picture at the top of the driveway. Emma and Ted made their grand entrance in a vintage wedding car which drew into our courtyard to cheers and raised glasses by their guests.

Whilst guests were occupied by a delicious selection of canapés including wild mushroom arancini and poppadoms with butter chicken and lemon yoghurt, Emma and Ted were able to sneak away for some more private photos in the Palace’s grounds.

Mark Bothwell managed to capture the happy couple as they caught sight of their guests round the corner, the smiles you can see here were worn by them both all day!

Time to sneak back into the courtyard to rejoin the celebrations; we love this photo of Emma entering her very own Palace for the day.

After plenty of bubbles and canapés, it was time to held to the Chaplain’s Walled Garden Marquee for the wedding breakfast.

Emma & Ted’s styling choices tied together perfectly, from their plant pot seating plan to the twine tied rosemary on every place setting, all the details worked effortlessly together to produce a soft and beautiful theme to the day.

The space was beautifully styled by Mary Jane Vaughan and her team, the table centres were finished with trailing ivy which made an elegant impression on the room.

A delicious three course wedding breakfast was served which included a Duck main course accompanied by Armenian cognac jus, another nod to Ted’s heritage which was a lovely touch on the menu.

Just speeches to go and the formalities were over, the marquee was full of laughter and tears by the end and the following is one of our favourite photo’s of the day…

In the meantime the Palace had been completely transformed inside by our in house team Effect Event, with warm amber and pink lighting. The bookshelves in our Drawing room had been decorated with personal photos and draped ivy and the pink bar certainly added to the new party atmosphere, time for cocktails!

Emma & Ted’s wedding might have been a slightly smaller crowd of 80 guests, but they certainly knew how to party and the dance floor was busy all evening.

The whole palace was bustling and half way through the evening we set up a cheese and port station for the guests to graze on in between stints on the dancefloor!

It was a great pleasure to be part of such a happy day and we wish Emma and Ted all the best in their future together. You can see their full day over on our videos page, filmed by Beautiful Life Films.

Finally a thank you to the happy couple for sharing their day with us!
